We are delighted to serve you fresh regional products every day. We are glad to spoil you with honest cuisine and homemade dishes, seasonal specialties and Mediterranean delicacies. Our wine menu also includes fine wines from the Lake Constance area and is complemented by a selection of international wines.
The large terrace on the Obermarkt connects the beautiful old town with the Barbarossa. The Obermarkt was originally an important trading point for all kinds of goods. In the Middle Ages, not only wood and wine were traded here, but also punishments for breaking the law were imposed and carried out. Nowadays, we would like to invite you to end a warm summer day with a glass of local wine. Our kitchen serves small, fine and seasonal dishes. Small delicacies invite you to enjoy a lavish aperitif in the beautiful old town atmosphere. On hot summer days, the parasols provide you with enough shade for an relaxing time in the middle of Konstanz old town. The Obermarkt is open from April to October, Monday to Saturday, depending on the weather.
The "living room" in the Hotel Barbarossa is the "Weinstube" - the cozy restaurant decorated with old wall paneling and many historical memorabilia. Here you can enjoy in peace and quiet and look out over the lively life on the Obermarkt - just as the previous generations of the Miehle family did, who still look down from the picture frames today. Head chef Jens Wagner and his team attach great importance to high-quality cuisine with freshly prepared, predominantly regional products. Of course, fish from the "Swabian Sea" and typical Baden specialties are not to be missed. The owner, Florian Miehle, is responsible for a well-stocked wine cellar, in which the wines of the Lake Constance region naturally set the tone - supplemented by international wines.
