Relax, unwind and
enjoy special moments

We love the fertile Lake Constance region!

That is why we are delighted to be able to serve you fresh, regional products every day. We look forward to treating you to our refined cuisine, seasonal specialties, and Mediterranean delicacies. Our wine list, of course, features our fine Lake Constance wines, complemented by a selection of international vintages.

Our restaurant, the “Weinstube,” is located on the first floor. In the cozy dining room of our establishment, you can enjoy a meal in a historic atmosphere. Since Karl Miehle redesigned the space around 1903, essentially nothing has changed. We look forward to welcoming you.

When the Weinstube closes for the summer, we invite you to our summer bistro, Obermarkt, located right in front of the building.
It’s the perfect place to relax, enjoy a glass of wine, or soak up the atmosphere of the old town.

The heart of the Hotel Barbarossa is the “Weinstube”—a cozy restaurant decorated with old wood paneling and many historical mementos. Here you can relax and enjoy the view of the bustling Obermarkt—just as the earlier generations of Miehle innkeepers did, who still look down from their picture frames today. Chef Jens Wagner and his team are committed to high-quality cuisine featuring fresh, predominantly regional ingredients. Of course, fish from the “Swabian Sea” and typical Baden specialties are a must.

The host, Florian Miehle, oversees a well-stocked wine cellar, where wines from the Lake Constance region naturally take center stage — complemented by international selections.

The large terrace on Obermarkt connects the beautiful Old Town with the Barbarossa. Obermarkt was originally an important hub for the trade of all kinds of goods. In the Middle Ages, not only were wood and wine traded here, but penalties for breaking the law were also imposed and carried out. Today, we invite you to wind down a warm summer day here, perhaps with a glass of local wine.

Our kitchen serves small, exquisite, and seasonal dishes. Delicious treats invite you to enjoy a leisurely aperitif in the charming atmosphere of the old town. On hot summer days, the umbrellas provide plenty of shade for a relaxing time in the heart of Constance’s old town.

Depending on the weather, the Obermarkt is open from April through the end of September, Tuesday through Saturday.
